Cooler Weather+Happy kids= Happy Mommy!

This is why we love Arizona! We have been loving playing outside in the mornings and evenings each day. Sure the heat brings us moolah, but cooler weather brings a daddy home to us! I want to enjoy everyday outside now until April when it gets hot again!

Here we are enjoying a coolish evening. We have the bruvers in their swings and the kids on theirs! Ah...I love having a backyard.

It's like the girls have got cabin fever staying inside all summer long. It is just to overwhelmed for me to take all 4 kids somewhere so letting them get some energy out every night is perfect! They are so much happier when we get to go outside...

Our cutie Mr. Colin was up for a visit....we that cute, crazy dancing boy!

They Understand....

I have been blessed with many great friends. Some of these friends are in the same unique situtation that I am it. It's amazing how I knew 2 of these gals before I was even married and became reaquatined with them after I had children. Heavenly Father has blessed me to have these sweet gals in my life. We all have mutiples under the age of 3....and 16 children between us.....CRAZY! We all gathered at my house last week for chatting, bow making, pregnancy and birth stories, and wonderful company.

Most of want to have just one someday....just to see how it could be....we will see what the future holds. Until then I know that I could call on any of these gals and vent or rejoice and they would understand...
Thanks sweet friends....I can't wait until the next get together!!

NEW YORK CITY!!!!!!!

I can't even believe it, but yesterday my sweet hubby and I were in the great city of New York! Last week he surprised me by telling me that he was taking me on a little get-a-way. He had booked everything, planned sitters for our kids, and did a great job of getting me to think that we were going to Sedona for a few days.
Two nights before we left we were talking about what I needed to bring. He said I would need a carry on bag....I thought, "Awesome! We get to go to Cali and go to the beach!" He then showed me the Phantom tickets that he had purchased....YIPPE! A quick trip to California....oh no he said...."We are going to see Phantom of the Opera on Broadway....in NEW YORK!!!" WHAT????

It was a quick trip to say the least, but we did some amazing things while we were there. Some of the highlights were....Sleeping in until 11, Times square, double decker bus tour, cruise ship to see the Statue of Liberty, toured a battleship, saw the awesome Phantom, rode in a cab, rode on the subway, ate at some very fun places, sat for a bit at Central Park, and walked around the city. WHEW! Came home reconnected to each other and had the realization that we can raise all our sweet offsring! Oh and a little jetlagged of course

You know me....I took 600+ pictures but here are my favs....click on the image to see more detail...And beware...lots of pics of us holding the camera and snapping away at our faces...sorry!

Self Timer in Central park....it was overcast so the editing is kinda wonky...how fun would it be to do photoshoots there?

Here is our Swanky Hotel, "The Ganzevort"...in the Meat packing district. It had a pool/club on the rook...people were waiting in a huge line out the door to get in...

Our tour out to the Statue of Liberty...very cool to see the skyline.

The battleship Intrpid...I always wanted to tour a battleship!

Times Sqaure at night...holy people! You could hardly walk...insane for sure!

Central Park...we only got a taste of the beauty of it...

Phantom...in the Majestic Theatere. It was a small theatere with amazing detail, scones, gold leafing, amazing detail. We were on the 6th row....I got chills many times and almost cried twice!!! HA!

Some of the other highlights of the city....

Thanks so much to my sweet Allison, Eliza, Regiane and Christi....I felt like a woman instead of a mother for a few days....

It was definatly an amazing experiance!!! Sweet Doug, thanks for making me feel so special!

Ya Ya Rolly Polly

Watch out! The Davis boys are on the move!! Rolling from their back to their tummies and sometimes from their tummy to backs....it is all downhill from here! Anytime you set them down they go straight to their tummies....cute little things....

The girls wanted in on the picture taking...my 4 little ones.

And what happens when you are a twin? You get kicked in the face a few times in your life....not on purpose of course. They are used to it right?

FHE at Extreme Play

Last night we went out to Xtreme play on Stapley and the 60. It is only $5 on Monday nights per child that is playing. So $10 for our little family. Air conditioned, run by a sweet LDS family, and tons of fun for your kiddos. They have lots of workers watching and telling the big kids to not push or slow down. Definatly worth the moolah and what a fun family time!

Home Invasion

When Doug and I bought our home we thought it was huge! We had 2 extra rooms and no toys at all. 5 years ago when my little nephew would come over, I would pull out my basket of Dollar Tree toys...he wasn't very impressed. Times have sure changed...now I have only a 2x2 square feet of space to walk in without stepping on a dress ups, blankets, binkies, or legos. Thankfully we get to use all our swings, bouncers, jumperoo and exersaucers 2 times over. We pulled out the big toys for the Boys this week. How fun to have a new toy! Here they are enjoying them.

Here is what my front room looks like on a typical day...want to come and play?

Thoughts on Motherhood

Personal sappy thoughts below......read with caution. (P.S. I kinda ramble on...and I am not a writer...skip the words and see the cute pics if you want)

For as long as I can remember I have always wanted to be a mother. I have always loved holding babies and am happy that the Lord has seen fit to bless me with four little ones. Is there chaos at times? For sure! Do I cry right along with all of them? Most definatly. But I feel as though I need to journal my feelings at this time so I can remember in the future what was going through my head when I had four little ones at home.

These past few months with Regiane have been such a blessing. It has given me the freedom to enjoy my babes, listen to the spirit and not get caught up in the bussle of running a household.

My girls have been hard these past few months...they sure are stubborn at times and I test my patience. I had the thought a few Sundays ago that The Lord is patient with me. He forgives me when I faulter and is patient with me and my flaws. And he expects me to do the same with these sweet spirits he has sent to our family. This hit met hard...no matter what I say to them and more importantly how I say it affects them.

My children are my priority everyday. I want to read to them, give them kisses, play toys with them, dance with them, hold them, sing to them, take them places, and give a great young life. Being home with my kiddos is such a blessing to me.

I think all mothers want their children to grow up happy and with strong testimonies. I pray that will my Saviors help I can raise these special ones that he has entrusted to me.

Here are some "Everyday" moments from the other day....I sure love my kiddos!

{I don't think I could have done it without her}

Most of you know our sweet friend has been living with our family this summer. She left to go back to college today...the house felt empty. She loved my children as any mother would. She talked and laughed with me every day, watched reality TV with me, shopped with me, cleaned the house, changed poopy diapers, did laundry, watched the boys while I took the girls shopping. You get the idea....I feel like my summer of magic has ended. I loved having someone to talk with everyday. She never judged or made me feel uncomfortable and put up with all of my shenanigans (including my nap-nazi schedule...the only way to survive with 2 sets.)

She is such a great girl. We learned so much from each other and I will never forget what she has taught me....hopefully she can come back next summer when I have 2 18 month olds and a busy husband.

I will miss you Regiane....love you!

We celebrated earlier this week and went to a Brazilian restaurant ( she is from Sao Paulo). The food was amazing...go there instead of Melting Pot next time you and your hubby want a nice place to eat for your anniversary.

Isn't she beautiful?

Big 3.5 year olds....going to preschool

My sassy girls started preschool this week. They are so excited as am I, for them to have something to break up our days of staying at home.
I am so happy that someone else will be putting up with their craziness for a few hours...so I can do more important things while my boys nap. Like excercise or shower....but let's face it....today while they are at school I am blogging and napping. Tee hee!

They picked out their own outfits and their own backpacks at the store...
