Stories from the sleep deprived and old

The other night night Doug got up at the 4:00 feeding went into the closet where Emmett was and came out an said- "Do You have the other one? Is he in bed with you?" In my sleepy state I didn't know what he was talking about...I said, "The baby is in the pack and play" Tee hee...after so many nights of caring for two he was for sure there had to be another one somewhere.

Doug took the kids to clean up basement while I went to Costco by myself- first outing out to pick up pictures- I came home and said- where's the baby? He had left him downstairs safe on the bed for about 3 mins- forgot all about him-man....we have to many kids....and are way to tired.

And for those of you wondering-One baby is So much easier than TWO! Who would have thought...I love rocking him late at night and in the wee hours of the morning. We nurse whenever he wants and I am so relaxed about his schedule. Dealing with the two 3.5 year olds on the other hand-is a different story. They are adjusting to life with a new brother but are still rowdy 3 year old boys. I should not complain at all...Doug is still home with us 3 weeks later, does all the dropping and picking up, dishes, and is taking all the kids camping for 4 days while I stay home. WOW- I have said it before but I sure love him...I'm so grateful for him.

We have had the best friends and family come and help us. We had meals for 8 days , and help with the clark and grant- and so many sweet and thoughtful gifts. I am overcome with the service of others and hope that I return the favor someday and serve when someone needs it.

I am almost all healed up and Mr. Emmett is still so dreamy....life is good....
Here are some pictures that my friend Jackie came over and took as well as some that I took....sigh...I love newborns...

Funny girl

Look what Olivia wrote for her journal writing- I guess I have been a little lazy lately;)

Introducing {Emmett Douglas Davis}

One week ago our sweet Boy came into this world happy and sweet and perfect.
We have had our scheduled c-section for a while so I was relieved that the day finally came! I slept about 4 hours the night before he came and we went to the hospital bright eyed and ready to go. I had the same nurse anesthetist as I had with the boys and she was so comforting and walked me through the surgery. Everything went as planned and at 9:25 Emmett entered the world screaming. He weighed 8lbs 14 oz and I thought for sure If I have 7lbs 37 week twins, that my singleton would be 10 lbs. No such luck....a healthy normal 8 lb baby.

It took us a few days to decide on a name...the top picks were Rhett, Greyson, and Emmett. In the end we decided he looked like an Emmett and that the name went well with our other names.

I spent 4 days in the hosptial and the recovery has been slow and hard. The worst one yet. Everyday some new challenge comes up that I have to overcome.
And coming home to 4 children has been hard. Monday we got home the boys ran in and said, "Mom your home! You brought home our baby brother!" Brought tears to my eyes. And then reality hit. I HAVE 5 KIDS! What the heck have Doug and I done!???
The boys are crazy, hard, and adjusting to their new life and the girls are doing great.
Here are some more pictures from the hospital. We had lots of sweet visitors and my mom spent 2 of the nights there with me so Doug could sleep in his own bed.

The cute kids came to hospital everyday and stayed for a little bit. What sweeties

My sweetheart Doug is my everything, my rock, my love, and my best friend. I am so happy we have created this family together and I LOVE that he is by my side to help me raise them.

Our family is now COMPLETE and so am I!!!

This is how I feel.....overjoyed and happy with our little brood.

This is reality........beautiful CHAOS.

Baby Eviction Notice- And We love our Daddy

I found this on another blog and thought it was funny....

BABY EVICTION NOTICE
I, the Landlord (Mommy), am issuing a notice for EVICTION. Tenant (Baby) will have to comply and promptly vacate the premises, or wait until authorization for removal by physician. After which, he will be removed from the property by cesarean section.
The Tenant (Baby) is being evicted due to breach of contract and destruction of property. Expansions only to the FRONT of the house, within reasonable limits, were discussed. Not only have these limits been exceeded, but additions to the back and sides of the house were also made without approval from the Landlord (Mommy).
Remodeling and gutting of the home was never approved, nor was changing the initial layout and base structure. Due to the damage by the Tenant (Baby), the foundation has been compromised, and the structural integrity of the house is questionable. The Landlord (Mommy) has also received numerous complaints about frequent nightly disturbances.
If the Tenant (Baby) doesn’t comply with the notice it will result in an immediate and forceful removal at the discretion of a physician and the Landlord (Mommy)

We can't wait until we meet brother tomorrow!!!!! Mom has been having hip aches, heartburn, siatic pain, insominia, and all over grumpiness. I think I have said Annoyed or Annoying more times in the past month than I have in my whole life~!

 I'm pretty awesome right??

And that Doug deserves a medal for putting up with me and being the DAD of the Century! He has taken the kids to do countless fun things and has more things planned. The other night he wanted to take the kids camping so I suggested they sleep in the basement and have a campout there....it was awesome!!! He's amazing....
