Tamale Day...cooking with my sisters

For the past few years, the Davis women have got together and made the most amazing tamales. They share with us, but this year Christi ( my sis-in law) and I decided to leave the kids and go down and help! My sweet Sister Amanda watched them in the morning and Dougie got off work in the afternoon. It was a quick trip to Thatcher and back, but we had so much fun! My sweet MIL had prepared all of the ingredients and we just rolled and cooked for 10 hours straight. We made over 80 dozen!!! WOWZER! I got to take home 10 dozen red and green chili corn, and also some elk meat ones with Doug's elk meat. I can't wait for next year....it's going to be a fun tradition~

And just for fun....here are the girls before the ward Christmas Party the other night....I wonder how I got so lucky! I love watching them play together...they are so helpful and kind(most of the time) We watched my little nephew Collin the other day and sweet Audree asked him..."What's wrong Cowin?" Livvy helped me feed him his bottle and burp him....It will be fun to have another one someday!
Dougie hunting again this weekend. It's fun to have girl time but I miss him a little. I'm so blessed to have him in my life. I love him so much....Sigh:)

Here are the some that aren't on our Christmas cards. They are growing on me the more I look at them. My girls sure were being onry that day and would not look at me or my friend to save their lives. I think they are about ready to be bribed....next time for sure! It's nice to have some current family pictures...my friend Jessica took these for me...thanks so much Jess!

Turkey Time!

We had a great thanksgiving weekend. It was so nice to be off and be together. Thursday morning we got to go on a family bike ride. We had such great weather outside. Then we went to my Aunt Alayne's house for dinner. It was so good to be with everyone especially my grandma. She is such an amazing happy person....she is not scared or worried about her cancer. That night we drove to Thatcher so Doug could go hunting with his brothers in the morning. That day was spent with the Davis family. I'm bummed that I forget my camera...we had a really good time there. The girls loved looking at Grammy's 9 new kittens.

Here the girls are right before lunch...looking so happy!

All of these pictures look soft btw.....I didn't sharpen for the web.

My Grandma & Grandpa

Dinner at Alayne's ...mom and dad helped out...good times for me!

Here are the 3 girlies playing "Plano"

On Saturday we spent the day with my family. My sweet mom made ham....yummers! And I had both sets of grandparents there...including my great grandma. They all sat at a table together and spoke loudly b/c they can't hear! We then went to Janiel's church and heard her and Clifton speak. They did a great job too.

Here is preview of my mom's Christmas card. All of her grandkids....in their Christmas Jammies. Wishing you a Cozy Christmas!
And the colors are supposed to look like that.....just experimenting with a little vintage.

Happy Thanksgiving.....

No pictures today...I haven't taken any of my own kids in a while. Just getting ready for Christmas and Thanksgiving. We just found out that my Grandma(Dad's mom) has lung cancer. We are still waiting on more tests and what treatment they will do. I'm excited to see her tommarow and be with her. I will share pictures too. We are going to Thatcher to spend the holiday weekend with Family. Hope you all have a good one!

Happy Veteran's Day.....the girls went to their 1st parade.....

My cousin Jill texted my last night and told me about the Veteran's Parade in Downtown Mesa. So my friend Jess and I decided to take the girls and go. Doug got off work early so he came too. It was a really beautiful day and a great parade. I got teary eyed a few times and started crying when one veteran saluted another. I just love america....I think my generation doesn't realize how blessed we are. I'm so grateful to live here and for the people that have sacrificed for our freedom. Jessica with her girls Sage and Sydnee
I told the girls to give a hug....this is what I got:)

The girls LOVED the marching bands. They would say...."Nother Machin ban" Audree had quite the dance going on there for a while. She loved beat of the drums

Watching the parade.

Someone passed out some flags....Audree loved it!

This week has been alot of this.....

Playing in the backyard with their new favorite toys....cups and rocks. YEP! Hours of fun and enjoyment here. We have a playhouse, a tramp , and some bikes in the backyard and this is what they want to play with.:) Cute girls

And also alot of editing my head off! HA! Almost every night and almost every nap I must edit to keep up with pictures this year. I am really loving all of this practice and seeing everyone's adorable families. I am done booking sessions for the season and am taking December off. It has been a little hectic but I really do love it. I'll miss being so busy with it. If you want to see some people's pictures that I have taken you can go to this website.....http://www.leahdavisphotography.photoherald.com/ the pics are the lowest resolution so they are grainy and a little soft. But in real life they are sharp and look good.

Don't mind the mess...my house has gone a by the wayside these days!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!

So I know it's like the 10th time you have all seen these on here....but since today is Halloween....here they are again! The girls had a great time tonight. We went to My sister Amanda's, my sis-in-law's Allison, and our friends Noel and Manu. We drove these places and came back and walked up and down our street. The girls loved walking around and would walk right up to the door and reach in for the candy they wanted! Little stinkers! But they would say thank you. It was fun to be out meeting neighbors we have never met before. And just for fun.....on this day 3 years ago Dougie and I were moving into our house! Too cool!

Here are some pictures of them behind our house right before sunset.
I love the tails and the bannana's here!

Here we are with Manda's kids.....Amanda made their costumes with my mom this year. Alot of Duct tape was used. We have Darth Vader and Leigha(sp?) Oh and aren't those ghosts cute!? Another Manda creation!

Feeling the love!

Here are the classic buns......sweet Abigial says....."Go and kiss a Wootie"(wookie!)

What a cutie!

What do you think these are? Can you guess? Look closer......that's right MONOPOLY peices! Amanda and my mom are so creative! I love it!

Vegas BABY!!!

This past week Dougie had off work so we drove to Vegas to see my cousin/best friend Lisa. It took us 8 HOURS to get there. The Marines were making a movie at the Dam so we waiting for 2 hours to get through. Thankfully our girls were AMAZING! No fussin or complaining. We really have some good girls. On the drive up I gave them new elmo dolls and new video to watch. We sang songs and read books too. And they both napped for 1/2 hour. We finally arrived to Lisa's beautiful "Fall" Home. All of her house colors are very warm and inviting. Oranges, yellow's and tans. She has done such a good job decorating her house. While we were there we went to some fun parks, one of them called the Dinosaur park. There was so much fun stuff to play on and a sand pit, and also a duck pond. It was awesome! I wish they had parks like that in Az.

On Tuesday night Lisa watched our kids while we went and saw, STOMP! It was great! Doug and I were tapping our legs and smiling at each other the whole time. The stuff that they did was just incredible.

Here are kids dancing with spatulas....and Dougers napping on the couch....look at the colors of lisa's house. SO cute!

On Thursday night we got to all go out as couples. We went to a yummy restaurant and then to Krispie Kreams. YUM! We love hanging out with John and Lisa so much.

And last but not least...here is picture of our girls at the ward trunk or treat on Fri night. This is our friend/neighbor Blake. They love him. They would walk up to everyone and say, "Tit ta teet" It doesn't look very good when I type it but it so cute when they say it!! HA!
Now we are back home to laundry and picture editing. This is a really busy time of year for me....but I love taking pictures so much it is worth it. Thanks for reading!!

Weekend in Thatcher, and other stuff....warning long post!

Sorry these are a little out of order...but I had to share what the girls were doing while I was making dinner the other night. They pulled down some pillows of the couch and were reading library books on their backs...it was just too cute I had to share.

Also I am an Auntie again. Doug's sister Allison had her baby Thursday morning. He weighed 6lbs. 13 oz. and his name is Colin Micheal Berryhill. She had a long hard labor and pushed for 3 hours and was soooo glad he finally came. They live just down the road from me so I will be seeing alot of him!

This is picture of my Great Grandma.....so she is my girls Great-Great Grandma. She is just amazing. Sharp and a little spunky we all love grandma carpenter. She makes Cakes and cookies, and bread for everyone that comes over. Here is a picture of her getting her ingredients together to make a cake.
Sorry these look a little soft.....I didn't sharpen for the web.

While we were there we went to feed the ducks at Safford Fairgrounds. The girls liked feeding them and kept asking for more bread. We also had a little picnic there with grandma.

We went to Thatcher this weekend while Doug was Elk hunting near Snowflake. He had a great time with all his brothers and shot the biggest one. There's just something about Thatcher. Everything is slower and so picturesque(is that how you spell it?) My girls love being at grandma's house and my mom watched them all weekend while I took pictures. By the way all you cute families....they look great and I can't wait to edit them. We took most of the pictures down at an old red barn in Central. My mom had this great antique chair that we used too. I attempted to get some cute pictures of my girls....by myself one morning. These are the best ones.

Don't you love Livy's face!

Tommarow we are driving to vegas to see my cousin Lisa in Vegas. We had orginally planned for me to fly today but since Doug caught his elk we are just driving and it will be better so we can have a car when we are there. I made the reservations with Williams-Gateway airport. They were super nice and were going to allow me to have both girls on my lap for one price. Every other airline was going to make me buy 2 tickets. And they were way cheaper than the other airlines. So next time check them out.....
Wow if you have made it this far give yourself a pat on the back. Thanks for reading my journal entry for the night!
